Delete your SailingTerms account

1. Open SailingTerms and make sure you are signed in to the account you want to delete.
2. Go to the Profile tab and tap the gear icon at the top to open Settings.
3. Under Account, tap Account management.
4. Tap Delete account, then Delete my account to confirm.

Your account is deleted straight away. If you use SailingTerms as a guest, the same screen offers Delete my data instead, which removes your guest progress.

If you no longer have the app, email us at info@sailingterms.app with the subject “Delete my account”. Send it from the email address on your account, and tell us whether you signed in with email, Google or Apple. If you used Apple’s “Hide My Email”, include the relay address Apple created for you.

We delete the account within 30 days and reply to confirm when it is done.

• Your account: email address, name, password (stored only as a hash) and sign-in method
• Favourites, notes, quiz history, practice progress and mistakes to review
• Course progress and game saves
• Your settings and notification preferences
• Your devices’ push notification registrations
• Any downloads for offline use on the phone you delete from

• A record that an account was deleted, with the date, the sign-in method, the platform, how old the account was and which plans were active. It holds no email, name or anything else that identifies you, and we keep it to understand why people leave.
• Notification delivery logs, separated from your account when it is deleted and removed after 90 days.
• Database backups, which may still contain your account until they are replaced, within 10 days.
• Purchase records. Apple, Google and our payment provider RevenueCat keep records of purchases, as tax law requires. They are no longer connected to a SailingTerms account.
• Emails you sent us, for up to 12 months.
• Crash reports. These were never connected to your account and are deleted automatically within 90 days.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it first in the App Store (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) or in Google Play (Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). One-time purchases stay with your Apple or Google account and can be restored if you sign up again.
